About
Name Badge Creator

A free, focused tool for turning an attendee list into designed, print-ready name badges.

Name Badge Creator (namebadgecreator.com) is a free, browser-based name badge maker from Glenwhisper Limited: import an attendee list from Excel, CSV or pasted rows, pick an original designer template, add your logo and brand colors, check that every name fits, and download print-ready PDF or PNG badges for holder inserts, Avery-compatible sticker sheets, PVC cards or a print shop. It makes files to print; it does not print or ship badges.

Who runs it

Name Badge Creator is built and run by Glenwhisper Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong. We are a small team that makes simple, focused web tools: tools that do one job well, let you start without an account and explain themselves in plain words.

We read every message sent through the contact form, and we use what organizers tell us to decide what to build next, from new badge sizes to new templates.

Why it exists

Typing names into a badge template one by one is slow, and mail merge is fiddly. Long names overflow, a late registration means starting again, and the printed sheet never quite lines up.

We wanted a tool that starts from the list you already have, makes every badge look designed, flags the names that need a decision, and lets you reprint only what changed.

How badges are made

One layout engine runs the preview, the proof and every export.

  • Your list stays with you

Reading your spreadsheet, fitting names and building the PDF all happen in your browser. Attendee names are only stored on our side while you are signed in, which saves your projects to your account. Our privacy policy has the details.

  • Names stay readable

Every name is sized to fit its badge, but never below a readable minimum. If a long name still does not fit, we flag it for you to decide. We never cut a name off.

  • Preview and file match

The preview, the proof and the PDF are drawn from the same layout, measured in millimeters, with the same font files. What you check is what prints.

  • Designed, not generic

Templates are original designs made for real events. Swap in your logo, colors, fonts and background art, and move anything you like.

Sheet and card sizes come from the measurements their makers publish. Until a size has been checked with a measured print, please print one page on plain paper first and hold it against your sheet. How to print name badges.

What we don't do

Being clear about the limits matters as much as the features.

  • We don't sell physical badges. Name Badge Creator makes the print files. You print them yourself or send them to a print shop. We do not ship badges, holders or lanyards.
  • We're not affiliated with Avery. Some templates match the sizes of Avery products so you can print on sheets you already have. Avery does not endorse or review this site.
  • We don't change names without asking. We never reorder first and last names or change capitals by ourselves. Any cleanup is a choice you preview and accept.
  • We don't run check-in or ticketing. A QR code on a badge holds the text or link you give it. It does not connect to a ticketing or door system on its own.

How we write our guides

  • Manufacturer data first. Sheet and card sizes come from the manufacturers' published specs, cross-checked against the open-source gLabels and LibreOffice label databases. We have not yet print-tested these stocks ourselves, which is why every guide asks you to print a test page.
  • Sources named. Where a fact comes from a manufacturer or a software vendor, we say where. Each Avery-compatible size page links the manufacturer's template page.
  • Numbers come from the tool. Sizes, sheet counts, margins and minimum font sizes on our pages are generated from the same data the editor and the PDF use, so a guide cannot quote a number the tool does not print.
  • Dated. Anything that changes carries a "last updated" date.
  • No paid placements. We don't accept payment to mention or rank products.
  • Corrections are welcome. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
